For the fans of “Xenoblade Chronicles 2,” there is a reason to be happy. That is because a brand new gameplay footage has arrived courtesy of Nintendo. They will have the opportunity to see what this game is all about.
According to Idle Monkey, the studio released the new “Xenoblade Chronicles 2” footage at Gamescom 2017. It features a new area in the upcoming sequel. More importantly, it showcases the new features and gameplay.
What is the game all about?
Similar to the original title, the sequel is set in a world that sits at the back of a massive creature named Titan.
Obviously, players will spend most of their adventures at the surface of this monster’s back. Nonetheless, there is more to this. Based on the new gameplay footage, the upcoming game will offer brand new areas that are set inside the Titan’s body. One of the areas is called Urya, which is a vast atmospheric cave system. It is reportedly filled with rivers and trees, all of which give the setting a nice view.
The general aesthetic of “Xenoblade Chronicles 2” makes use of advanced lightning. This gives the aforementioned area an ethereal atmosphere, so to speak. The video also gives fans an in-depth look at the game’s combat system. Unlike the first game, the follow-up is expected to have a more streamlined battle system in various areas.
For example, players will no longer have to access the Arts using a quick access option. This is instead assigned to a set of buttons that can be found on the right side of the Joy-Con.
What to expect?
Apart from the above-mentioned flexibility, “Xenoblade Chronicles 2” fans will also be able to access their Blades. This is by way of using the buttons on the controller’s left side.
Blades, in particular, refer to a character’s weapons that he/she uses in the battlefield. Nintendo also promises to bring features that have been upgraded from the previous game. This title is definitely something that the fans of the original title should look forward to.
The forthcoming role-playing game is being developed by Monolith Soft, with Nintendo being the publisher.
It is expected to arrive in Nintendo Switch late this year. The game will feature fan favorite characters such as Rex (main protagonist) and Pyra. Both are on the mission to find the mysterious world of Elysium. As for its official soundtrack, Mitsuda will be among the composers. He revealed that this was among his biggest projects to date. Nintendo promises to release more information about the title in the next few weeks or so.
