There is no doubt that Doomfist is one of the most exciting heroes in “Overwatch.” In fact, way before his release, players have already anticipated his arrival. Everyone just wanted to play him so badly that the game’s server crashed.

However, since his release, too, Blizzard has nerfed him a couple of times in “Overwatch” already. Apparently, the nerfing job is not yet over. That is because the gauntlet-wearing hero just received another tweak in the game.

Rocket Punch nerfed

According to Dot Esports, the aerial skill of Doomfist called Rocket Punch was just nerfed by the studio.

The change is currently live on the game’s Public Test Realm, though its official release still remains to be seen. Apparently, Blizzard did not announce this nerf. Rather, they unleashed it on the PTR secretly. Fortunately, a Reddit player was able to notice the change. The user named Dragnseeker said that the studio changed the distance the skill can cover in the game.

In the live servers of “Overwatch,” Doomfist can use the aforementioned ability while jumping. This allows him to reach a distance of 15 meters from the ground. With this, he can eliminate an opponent without getting noticed. The distance just allows him to surprise an enemy. However, this seems to have caught the attention of Blizzard, result to a nerf.

The adjustment was never included in the Patch 1.15 notes, which were released on August 24. The patch, in particular, gave some major changes to D.Va and Mercy.

Could it be a bug?

Fortunately, Blizzard has yet to confirm the sudden change in Doomfist’s Rocket Punch in “Overwatch.” So, in one way or another, this could be a bug and that the studio might just mistakenly included it.

There are also players who claimed that the new distance varies from time to time. Heck, even the speed of the Rocket Punch greatly differed as well. This only solidifies the claim that the nerf was merely a bug. Still, anything can. This might even give the Blizzard the idea to actually nerf the skill.

Interestingly, this is not the first time the video game company nerfed Doomfist in “Overwatch.” Last time, the same skill was nerfed just days after his official reveal.

The next one was introduced sometime in August, though it tweaked the skill’s hitbox. Rocket Punch is an asset to Doomfist and it gives him the much-needed damage to eliminate opponents. It is also the reason why the hero is among highly mobile, as he can move from point A to point B quickly. If the studio will really decide to nerf it, chances are, his significance in the game will be changed.
