'Tom Clancy’s The Division' is perhaps the title from Ubisoft that has received an outrageous amount of criticisms. Sure, it quickly rose to fame following its initial release; however, unresolved issues, bugs and exploits made it impossible for the game to reach greater heights. Nonetheless, this did not stop the studio from releasing new updates over the course of months.

According to PC Gamer, the studio is set to release another update for 'Tom Clancy’s The Division.' It is called patch 1.7 and promises a lot of pretty significant changes. While the developers have not been so generous in releasing specific details, some of the features expected to arrive have surfaced. Here they are in a nutshell.

Introducing Global Events and Classified Gear

Update 1.7 will be introducing three new features: Global Events, Commendations and Classified Gear. These will reportedly be placed on the in-game menu. To begin, Global Events refer to special monthly events in the game, affecting the open world on a global scale.

There are specific rules and/or criteria, which are called "Global Modifiers". These are meant to force all players to adapt and/or adjust to the kind of play style they prefer. Once missions are completed, they should receive the so-called "Global Event Tokens." These tokens can be spent on "Classified Gear Caches" from certain vendors only.

Classified Gear, on the other hand, is designed for 'Tom Clancy’s The Division' players to have something they could hunt for in-game. Interestingly, these items’ gear score can be maxed without even negatively impacting the other existing gears. Apparently though, all Classified Gear drops at a gear score level of 256, regardless of the current World Tier.

Commendations explained

Next on the list is Commendations. In 'Tom Clancy’s The Division', this works as a built-in achievement system developed to further improve the gameplay experience of the game. Ubisoft, however, did not provide any specific details. Some players believe that it could have a similar structure to what other shooter-themed title offers. Perhaps players who perform best in matches can be commended by their allies, and, in return, they will receive special rewards of sort. It also remains a mystery if this achievement system come in various sub-features. For instance, if a certain commendation is reached, players might be able to display a logo or badge that displays this particular achievement.

It is true that 'Tom Clancy’s The Division' continues to earn woes from the community. Players still continue to complain about various bugs and issues, although the studio kept on trying to remove them. With this new update, things might just hopefully change for the better.
