“Pokemon GO” has received a brand new feature called Raid Battles. It allows players to work alongside other players in order to defeat the raid bosses. Once successful, Niantic awards them with in-game items and bonuses.
Apparently though, raids in “Pokemon GO” do not exist 24 hours, seven days a week. This led to players wondering just what time these officially start and end.
In the meantime, here is what the community noticed.
Possible start and end times for Pokemon Go raid battles
Niantic did not give out any official start and end times for raid battles, as reported by Heavy. The studio, though, promised to reveal these details later on. But as far as what other trainers have observed, raids usually start at 9 AM and either ends at 8 PM or 9 PM. The observation was based on a fact that raid bosses tend to disappear at night.
Indeed, the new feature in “Pokemon GO” does not work at night. Many believe that Niantic did this to ensure the safety of players, as accidents usually happen at night.
This even goes without saying that the mobile game itself has caused various accidents since launch. Some players encountered multiple mishaps, while others got reported to the police for certain violations. It is safe to say that the studio just wants to prevent these unpleasant situations from happening.
Players still prefer raids at night
There is actually a good reason why “Pokemon GO” players would prefer playing raids at night. This is simply due to the season being the hottest time of the year, which is true to most countries in the world. Add to this the fact that, at night, players will not have to worry about heat. This is why they hoped for Niantic to let them participate in raids when the sun is out.
Whether or not this happens, it remains to be unseen.
There are “Pokemon GO” enthusiasts who suggest that raids will become a 24/7 thing in the future. For now, Niantic just wants to acquire the information needed to make some adjustments or changes. Besides, the feature is still new and the studio itself confirmed that it is a work in progress.
Meanwhile, the company reportedly lowered the level required to join raid battles. In the previous version of the feature, level 35 or above players were the only ones allowed to participate in raids. Obviously, some trainers were unhappy, most especially the lower-level trainers. Fortunately, Niantic just set the new level requirement to 25.
