Ryan Edwards, known for his role on MTV’s “Teen Mom” branded franchise of reality shows, finished a 90-day stay at a rehab facility for alleged drug addiction on Thanksgiving, In Touch Weekly noted. While he was away from home, Edwards missed out on his wife Mackenzie Standifer giving birth in October to the couple’s son, Jagger Ryan Edwards.

Reality star ‘totally’ drank a beer’

The TV star dad was recently spotted on December 6 at dinner with Standifer and their baby boy at Edley’s Bar-B-Que, according to Celebrity Insider. Edwards reportedly “drank a beer.” A source told the publication that it was a Budweiser Light beer, adding, “ He totally had a beer.”

Heroin reportedly teen dad’s drug of choice

One beer does not make for a sudden relapse for Ryan, who is allegedly addicted to heroin, as documented in the past by numerous media outlets.

“Teen Mom” fans were ultra concerned for him, as well as for Standifer after MTV aired a tape of Edwards when he appeared to fall asleep while driving a truck. Standifer seemed to have turned off the MTV camera mounted inside the vehicle. The incident happened before the couple was married.

Despite Edwards’ past legal problems, involving arrests that evolved from reportedly abusing drugs, the pair followed through with their plan to get married, which also worried “Teen Mom” fans. Not only were MTV viewers thinking about Edwards and Standifer, but also his son Bentley.

Fans hopeful Edwards will change

Edwards emerged on "Teen Mom” while his ex-girlfriend Maci Bookout was a teen and pregnant with their son Bentley. That his behavior as a parent now has the potential to affect Bentley has inspired many fans to pull for Edwards, hopeful that he might change the direction of his life.

Wife staying with husband

From the time that Edwards exchanged wedding vows with Standifer, the duo has lived with a continual onslaught of gossip about the status of their relationship.

On more than one occasion, Standifer has addressed rumors about if she is planning to part ways with her husband. Her answer has been a resounding: No. She intends to stay with Edwards – whether despite or in light of alleged substance abuse issues.

Checking into rehab was a choice

Edwards was not forced into rehab but chose to check himself in for treatment while his wife was pregnant. Making such a decision and taking that step for himself could be a sign that Edwards is serious about finding sobriety and staying away from any illicit drug. In telling social media followers on her Instagram account that she is definitely staying with her husband, she commented, “Just because someone has a problem doesn’t give you an excuse to give up.”

MTV fans will not see baby boy on reality show

Because the couple does have the bond with Bentley, “Teen Momviewers and fans might hear or even see Edwards and Standifer on future shows, but can rule out seeing their baby Jagger – at least for now.

Standifer stated that the pair does not want their son on the show “Teen Mom OG.”

Additional news about a different "Teen Mom" star recently entailed Jenelle Evans briefly unfollowing her controversial husband, David Eason, on his social media accounts. No one really knows why, except the reality show star (Jenelle). Former reality star Jon Gosselin, meanwhile, has been enjoying time with two of the sextuplets he shares with his ex-wife Kate Gosselin. His son Collin and daughter Hannah, 14, went on an outing with their dad and selected a Christmas tree.
