When you are talking about the highest rated quarterbacks in college football, there are some names you obviously know and some you're likely to be a bit surprised by. ESPN's QBR rankings show the top five names, as detailed below.
Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama)
Just a true sophomore, this isn't a name that should shock anyone. He's at the top of ESPN's QBR rankings with a score of 97.5. Tua has completed 70 percent of his passes for over 2,000 yards but that's not what's really impressive. The fact that he's thrown 25 touchdown passes and no interceptions is unheard of in today's game.
Kyler Murray (Oklahoma)
The first year starter for Oklahoma comes in second with a QBR of 96.9 thanks to an even better 72.3 completion percentage and 25 touchdowns of his own. He does have three interceptions but he's also doing damage on the ground with 428 yards and five touchdowns. Tua has not needed to run much so far this season.
