Rumors are rife that an 8 GB RAM and 256 GB native storage variant of the impending Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is currently under testing. The source of the rumor was traced back to tipster Ice Universe who shared the leak on Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo. The handset’s 256 GB variant is hinted to be named the “Emperor Edition” and is expected to launch in select countries alongside the standard 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Following its launch in home country South Korea, the handset will make its way to select countries.

A beefed up version coming to the market?

The successor of the Note 7 will come in a special edition featuring a whopping 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, Ice Universe also revealed that the Note 8 will be released in three colors, which will include Orchid Gray and Midnight Black. According to leakster Roland Quant, the third color for the handset could be a new Deep Blue hue. However, Quant claims that the Deep Blue hue for the device will be different from the Coral Blue one, which was introduced for the disastrous Note 7.

Rumored specs and features

Speculations are rife that the upcoming Note 8 will sport a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, one of the highlights of the current Samsung flagship smartphones.

The phablet will be fueled by either an Exynos 8895 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU depending on the market the handset will get released in. While Samsung prefers to incorporate its own chipsets for the devices which will be released in South Korea or China, the company usually fits the Snapdragon chipset on the handsets heading for the United States.

It is supposed that a 3,300mAh battery will fuel the handset and the Note 8 is anticipated to be preloaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, although many expected it to come with the Android O. Atop the Nougat OS, Samsung will be fitting its own version of user interface which was earlier known as TouchWiz. The Galaxy Note 8 is touted to be one of the few smartphones to come with Google Daydream support outright.
