Today, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be marrying longtime girlfriend Salina Deleon, but the top 205-pound fighter in the organization did not invite the boss to the ceremony or reception.

The wedding will take place at Wedding Garden at the Oceano Hotel and Space Half Moon Bay Harbor and begins at 3:30 PST. It will be followed by a reception at the Gate House. According to the couple's wedding website, no UFC fighters or American Kickboxing Academy teammates will serve as groomsmen.

When TMZ reporters asked Cormier if UFC President Dana White bought him a wedding gift yet, the champion responded, "Not yet, but I'm expecting something nice.

Dana, gift, May 27, I don't know if you're gonna go on my registry or if you want to do something bigger. Salina and I will gladly accept bigger. Something about this big (uses hand gestures), in the form of a check will do."

Cormier was then asked how you split up the seating at a wedding when you are inviting fighters. "You know, I actually don't have that many guys. Only my teammates," Cormier said.

Cost savings

"You know, I didn't just invite random people. I have my closest friends, people that I work with here at FOX Sports, and my teammates. That's it. So, that actually was the hardest job of all. Matching people up. There's more drama in little things that anyone in my gym so it was fun but it was kind of tedious.

And, I took a part in it. I didn't just let Salina do it. I actually sat there putting these tables together. And I'm really doing it because I'm checking the cost. I know exactly how many people are at each table so I know exactly what I'm paying."

Relationship

Cormier and Deleon met in Fresno, California, and got engaged in Paris, France in 2014.

The couple has two children together, a boy, Daniel Jr., born in 2011, and daughter, Marquita, born the following year in 2012.

Next fight

Immediately following his honeymoon, Cormier will be right back in the gym preparing for his next title defense. Cormier will defend his belt in a rematch against former champion Jon Jones on July 29 in Anaheim, California.

The fight will headline UFC 214 on pay-per-view. The two men fought when Jones was the champion and defended against Cormier. Jones won that January 2015 fight via unanimous decision. It is the only loss on Cormier's record which sits at 19-1. Cormier has won four straight fights since the loss to Jones more than two years ago.
