A movie about the most popular fighter in Mixed Martial Arts history -- Conor McGregor -- will hit select movie theaters worldwide in November. "Notorious," a film that took four years to produce, will hit the silver screen next month. The news came via McGregor's social media accounts and the UFC website.

The picture is directed by Gavin Fitzgerald and produced by Jamie D'alton. It depicts the rise of McGregor from a fighter born and raised in Ireland to a two-division champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. McGregor's longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin, UFC President Dana White, former champion Jose Aldo, and Arnold Schwarzenegger all have roles in the film.

Rise to the top

On the verge of homelessness, McGregor lived in the spare room of his parents' house in Dublin -- though he is now the highest paid mixed martial artist in the sport. It has been reported that McGregor earned upwards of $100 million for his August 26 boxing superfight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas.

McGregor earned the UFC featherweight title in December 2015, knocking out longtime champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds. From there he had two 170-pound catchweight fights against Nate Diaz in March and August of 2016. The bouts would be the two highest earners and most watched fights in the history of the UFC.

In November 2016, McGregor made history as he became the first UFC star to hold two titles simultaneously.

He knocked out lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez to claim the 155-pound belt. The UFC forced McGregor to give up his featherweight title and he has yet to defend his lightweight strap.

McGregor is without a doubt the sport's biggest star. He has sold out venues and gone to pay-per-view for question and answer sessions with fans.

No other UFC athlete aside from Ronda Rousey has risen to the star power that McGregor has in such a short period of time. His first fight with the UFC came in April 2013, a little more than four years ago. Since then he has had 10 fights with the organization, losing only to Diaz.
