"Dancing With The Stars" 2017 kicked off March 20 on ABC as the 12 celebrity/pro couples cha'd their first chas toward attaining the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. By the time the glitter settled, the pre-season Vegas favorite predictably rested atop the heap, but there were more than a few surprises that emerged as the night progressed. Here's a look at the full "DWTS" season 24 week one leaderboard.

The Creme da le Creme of 'Dancing with the Stars' 2017 week one

Olympic champ and gold medal goddess Simone Biles and Sasha Farber, 32/40. History's best gymnast didn't disappoint when it came to her "Untouchable" tango with Farber.

She was graceful, elegant, and just plain darling. She told the panelists afterward that she'd channeled her "inner Laurie Hernandez" to get the job done, but no channeling was necessary: the girl has the performance goods, period.

NFL free agent Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, 31/40. NFL players have historically fared well on "DWTS," and Jennings lived up to the hype. His cha cha with Slater --who's been saddled with some series non-contenders in the past-- was a literal golden display of glittering greatness.

Olympic figure skating medalist Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev, 28/40. Kerrigan's Viennese waltz was graceful and her smile was infectious. But will voters remember her long enough to vote for her?

"Glee" alum Heather Morris and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, 28/40. Like Kerrigan, Morris opened her "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 tenure with a Viennese waltz that was graceful and appeared virtually effortless. Also like Kerrigan, it was well-received.

World series champion David Ross and Lindsay Arnold, 28/40. It's not that we expected Grandpa Rossy to plod around the ballroom Kate Gosselin-style (well, maybe we did), but no one expected that quickstep with Lindsay Arnold.

He's got some moves.

Middle of the Road'ers

Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy, 27/40. Kordei opened the show and the "DWTS" judges are quite often stingy with the paddles early on, so her quickstep may have received higher scores had she danced later in the two-hour show. Still, she sold it well, and there's no way that her legion of rabid Harmonizers will let her get the boot.

"The Bachelor" Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd, 24/40. As odious as Viall can be to fans who are tired of seeing his mug on reality TV, he actually danced his cha cha with new mom Murgatroyd --who looked fabulous, by the by-- quite well. Well enough, in fact, to prompt Bruno Tonioli to say that the routine had a Justin Timberlake vibe to it. Huh.

"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko, 24/40. Fans can always expect Savchenko to turn up the temp in the ballroom (hello, his shower dance with Jana Kramer), and his slightly raunchy salsa with the reality starlet was no exception to the rule. It wasn't stand-out awesome, but it was predictably toed the line of family show appropriateness.

PBR champ and model Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess, 22/40. We may still be blushing and slightly breathless over the season's hottest pair's cha cha to "Move." Was the actual dancing great? No, but who cares? We just want to look at Bolton and Burgess being hot together. And if "Dancing with the Stars" 2017 is the venue, so be it.

'DWTS' season 24 week one leaderboard: The cellar

Entertainment icon Charo and Keo Motsepe, 21/40. Charo is a bundle of energy, and given her (completely unspecified but definitely in up-there territory) age, that's huge. But she should probably stop bickering with the judges.

Actor Mr. T and Kym Herjavec, 20/40. So he didn't cha a whole lot of cha, but their "A-Team" routine was super fun, and he's doing "DWTS" to inspire kids.

Admirable.

Actor Chris Kattan and Witney Carson, 17/40. Chris and Wit's "What is Love" cha cha was entertaining but, to be blunt, rough. They should probably pack their bags.
