The holidays are here and the “League of Legends” community is ready to enjoy their favorite seasonal game. “Snowdown Showdown” comes out once a year and provides some awesome skins, loot, and even a super special Game Mode. This season is jam-packed with fun and brings old and new players alike out to the “Howling Abyss” to test their strength against the Poro King. The “Snowdown Showdown” is set to begin soon. According to na.leagueoflegends.com, last year’s “Snowdown Showdown” started on December 14 at 12:00 AM PT. Many people suspect that they will release it at the same time this season.
Hopefully, they start it as soon as possible since it is a great game mode that many people have come to love and enjoy.
Time for legendary skins and Christmas loot boxes
Every year around Christmas time the “Snowdown Shop” opens for a limited time. According to “na.leagueoflegends.com,” it will open on December 12, 2017, at 8:00 AM PT and close January 8, 2018, at 11:59 PM PT. Make sure that you get all of your favorite skins before they go away. Everyone is given six discounted skins and champions up to 70 percent off. It’s important to note that these skins will not be legendary. They will be the normal skins that are available for purchase 24/7. Even though the skins are older (3+ months), there could still be some skins that catch your eye.
These skins are a great way to save some money, while still showing off a new favorite.
Also, keep an eye out for new legendary skins. Last year’s legendary skins were Santa Braum, Snow Day Graves, and Winter Wonder Karma. Make sure to check out the new 2017 “Snowday” skins. They will have different champions and will be available only for a limited time.
Unfortunately, legendary skins will only be purchased with cash so if you are looking for something a little more affordable, check out the holiday player icons. These icons can be purchased for usually ⅓ the price and they feature some pretty interesting creations made by the developers.
‘Legend of the Poro King’ - a special game mode for a special time of the year
“Legend of the Poro King” is by far one of the best rotating game modes created. This game mode features players on the “Howling Abyss” map going after the Poro King. The Poro King is summoned by players tossing Poros at the competing team. Once they reach 10 Poros, the infamous Poro King is summoned to help lead the team to victory. The Poro King has some special upgrades that can help the team to have an edge up on their competition. For example, one of the special upgrades is the Poro King launching Poros at the enemies to damage them. These special moves really make the game more interesting and fun.
The Poro King games are very intense and invigorating.
They require an understanding of the specialty skills and moves, all while providing a fast-paced game on the “Howling Abyss” map. Many people think that this is one of the best game modes not only because it is very intense, but is also lighthearted and fun. The game animations are very adorable, such as when someone feeds a Poro a “Poro Snax,” it runs around with little hearts and grows in size. Many little details like this are what allow “Riot” to stay in touch with their consumers. Players from all levels of skill can enjoy this “Legend of the Poro King” game mode and will sure be sad when it’s gone until next year.

Even the “Howling Abyss” and “Summoner’s Rift” maps receive a visual overhaul and update for the Christmas season.
