Behaviour Interactive is pumping up the excitement in playing Dead by Daylight now that Halloween is almost here. The highly popular asymmetric horror video game is set to receive a new DLC that will plausibly go live with the in-game Halloween event this week.

The game developer has yet to announce the official details of the content that will be part of the next DLC pack titled “Don’t Fall Asleep.” Last week, however, it dropped a short teaser hinting the highly speculated addition of the infamous Freddy Krueger, the horrifying killer from “A Nightmare on Elm Street” film franchise.

Those who missed the teaser clip can check it out below.

New DLC release date

During its developer stream last Thursday, game director Mathieu Cote and creative director Dave Richard dropped some exciting bits of information regarding the next chapter when it arrives. Apparently, due to Microsoft’s restriction, the team could not divulge the full details as of yet and perhaps the announcement will be made anytime this week prior to launch.

According to Cote, the “Don’t Fall Asleep” DLC is coming soon and the trailer will be unveiled shortly. He further said that he can’t confirm the exact release date at the moment and whether it will be launched on both PC and consoles.

DVS Gaming, however, reported that Freddy Krueger DLC might go live together with the planned Halloween event in the game.

The holiday-themed event could begin on Thursday, October 26, and end on November 1.

DLC content details

Without going into specifics, Cote and Richard teased that the upcoming chapter will introduce a new killer, survivor, and map. While they stay mum as to who will be the new killer to bring terror next into the game, fans strongly believe that it’s the “sweater boy.”

In response to the speculation, the two simply joked about the striped sweaters and someone called “Johnny Lueger.” On the other hand, they went on to discuss the new perks instead.

The four new perks include Fire Up, Blood Warden, Remember Me, and Pharmacy but the other two remain a secret for now.

Halloween event

Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to the Halloween event, which the development team prepared for them to celebrate the occasion. The community manager announced last week that the holiday-themed event will add Bloodpoint, but not much has been revealed about it yet.

In addition, it won’t include a community challenge as opposed to previous in-game events but the studio simply wants gamers to have fun. With that said, the holiday-themed update will add decorated lobby, new Nurse Jack-o-lantern skin, flashlight, and med-kit. These items will vanish after November 1 except the Nurse skin.

"Dead by Daylight" is currently available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC platforms.
