The Single-player mode for Friday the 13th: The Game is undeniably one of the highly anticipated features coming to the survival horror video game soon. This DLC was originally planned for release last summer, however, IllFonic decided to push it back to make sure the issues found in the consoles versions are fixed first.

Fortunately, the studio recently delighted fans with exciting and fresh details regarding the content of the upcoming mode. It appears that the development team has been paying attention to the gamers that have been requesting for more information about the single-player DLC.

Three separate components

Accordingly, IllFonic senior designer Casey Holtz responded to the request of fans to give additional details pertaining to the new mode. He confirmed that a slew of content will be part of the single-player mode of “Friday the 13th: The Game.”

In his newest post on the game’s subreddit, Holtz revealed that the new mode will be classified into three different components that connect together to form a complete experience. Perhaps one of the exceptional features coming in SP mode is the Challenges.

According to Holtz, these challenges will let players relive some of the events from the classic horror film franchise in the game. The senior designer explained that in this specific content, players, for example, could kill someone in some place that reminds them of the location featured in the “Friday the 13th” movies.

Mechanics of the challenges

In the single-player DLC, players can take on the role of killer Jason Voorhees within the Challenges. But an objective for a single challenge could enable the gamers to accomplish a task as a certain Jason.

Holtz further explained that within these challenges, AI will begin doing stuff until they see Jason or somebody dead.

They will hide and attack in their attempt to escape depending in their “character archetype.”

New Jason kills and more

The single-player mode will also include challenge-specific voice-over (VO) for every counselor. Jason will have new kills while the counselors will get new behavior animations.

Moreover, when players will be in the SP mode, Jason will still play in the same way he does in the multiplayer mode.

It means that he gets to use all his abilities and kills in the new mode.

This impending addition to the game does not have an exact release date but based on the developer’s roadmap, it is slated for launch in the winter season.

“Friday the 13th: The Game” recently received Part IV Jason and the new Jarvis map DLC in time for the Halloween. The game is currently available on Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
