Clarissa Bowers, the candidate from the United States, is Predicted to win the crown during the coronation night of Miss World 2017 in China on November 18. This 20-year-old student of Neuroscience is currently on top of the leaderboard by pageant website Global Beauties.

Bowers hopes to become a surgeon one day and wants to continue studying in medical school after her pre-med course. She wishes to become a reconstructive surgeon who provides services for children with congenital diseases. Her previous experiences have shaped her dreams to become a medical professional.

Aspiring doctor

When she was 16 years old, she has worked as a surgical assistant. She also personally witnessed a child with disabilities taking his first steps through the help of Miracle League, a group that guides patients with certain medical conditions.

This year’s event will be the 67th edition of Miss World since it started in 1951. Since they arrived in China, the ladies have been staying in the beautiful city of Sanya for more than a week now.

They were welcomed in the neighboring area of Shenzhen where they were able to share their national gifts. They eventually traveled to Huangshan, one of the most renowned tourist destinations in China.

Early favorites

Following Bowers is Russia’s Polina Popova who landed on the second place spot as predicted by Global Beauties.

Popova is a 22-year-old model who graduated from a music school but hopes to become a television journalist one day.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, skating, skiing, and tennis, her profile on the pageant website indicated. Her personal motto reads, “I love my life. There is only one success – to spend your life in your own way.”

Meanwhile, Mexico’s Andrea Meza trails behind in third place.

This Latina beauty graduated from a course in college that was mostly taken up by men. She holds a degree in Engineering and is currently working as a software engineer. She dreams of opening her own software firm and managing her own fitness club.

Coming in fourth place is El Salvador’s Fatima Cuellar. At 19 years old, she is currently studying Communications and would like to someday start her own non-profile organization for children in her country.

She also has a passion for playing the flute, doing gymnastics and taking care of her pet dog. Among the other ladies who made it to Global Beauties’ predictions include the candidates from France, the Philippines, Poland, Spain, Brazil, and Iceland.
