Samsung has launched the Galaxy S8 in April. Reports and rumors have already started pouring in claiming the South Korean giant has already started working on the next iteration of its smartphone. Galaxy S9 leaks hint at 1000fps camera

According to the latest report by ETNews, the Galaxy S9' camera will be able to take super slow motion shots at 1000fps. The report also suggests that camera will use stacked image sensing technology seen on the Sony Xperia XZ1. The sensor will have the ability to save the image on a DRAM chip in one of the layers, temporarily. According to the report, Samsung will start the mass production of the three layered-image sensors in November this year.

Specs and features

A recently approved patent shows that the Galaxy S9 will follow in Apple's footsteps and will boast a cut-out on the forehead of the screen.

There are chances that the company might be bringing a notched display. However, according to a report by Android Headlines, Samsung's next flagship will flaunt a new AMOLED display which is codenamed as 'Sunflower.' Just days before the unveiling of Galaxy S8, known tipster claimed that the Galaxy S9 could feature MotoMod type of modular design, which will allow users to connect to external modules through magnetic pins housed on the rear panel of the phone. The headphone jack might be removed in Galaxy S9.

Samsung has already announced the Cat18 LTE modem with 6CA support and is expected to make its debut with company's forthcoming flagship. The modem is capable of providing download speeds up to 1.2Mbps, 20 percent more the 1Gbps modem used for the Galaxy S8.

South Korea's The Investor reports that the Galaxy S9 will pack a 5.8-inch display, while the S9+ will have a 6.2-inch display similar to the current generation S series. The report also says that Samsung might try out its fingerprint under display concept with the upcoming device.

If the rumors are to be believed, the smartphone will be powered by company's own 8nm Exynos chips and a 7nm processor out of Qualcomm, which is yet to be announced. Some rumors say that the device will not have a Snapdragon variant. Both the flagships, S9 and S9+, might boost similar specs and won't feature the much speculated foldable display.
