The annual Apple music festival has become a fixture of the entertainment scene since it started in 2007. The event was first known as iTunes Festival, and it was typically held at The Roundhouse in the London district of Camden Town. According to a report from MusicBusinessWorldwide, Apple has decided to discontinue its music festival of 10 years.
Artists involved in Apple music festival
The bands and artists who performed at Apple music festival over its decade-long run include Mumford & Sons, Paul Simon, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, The Weeknd, Adele, Oasis, One Direction, and Beck.
The company focuses on single events?
The cancellation of the music festival does not mean that the company will completely move away from live entertainment events. There is a huge possibility that Apple might be focusing on single events. The company recently partnered with Haim (American pop rock band) and Skepta (British rapper and songwriter) for shows and also sponsored Drake’s summer tour last year.
What should we expect on September 12 event?
On the other hand, Apple will be hosting an event in its Steve Jobs Theater on September 12. The company is expected to unveil its most speculated software and devices on the event such as iPhone 8, Apple Watch 3, Apple TV, WatchOS 4, and iOS 11. The main highlight of the event is the tenth year anniversary flagship smartphone.
Fans have set their expectations high for the iPhone 8. This year’s iPhone might have a major design overhaul. According to a report from Velvetiere, the upcoming smartphone might have no physical home button. This is one of the significant changes on the iPhone 8. The home button is going to be replaced by an on-screen gesture controls and software bar.
The software bar involves a set of dock icons located below the screen. It is a thin bar, but users can drag it into the center of the screen to open the functions panel and enlarge it.
The iPhone 8 will also feature inductive wireless charging technology and 3D recognition sensors. Tech analysts claim that the device will experience half the charging speed of standard chargers. Instead of the Qi standard of 15 watts, the iPhone 8 will only be limited to 7.5 watts. The 3D recognition sensor is capable of generating a facial ID. The facial ID can be used to unlock the device or authorize payments through Apple’s digital wallet service, “Apple Pay.” The iPhone 8 is expected to hit the market on September 22.
