LG has launched a new smartphone on the market without much pomp. The latest release LG Q8 by all accounts can be dubbed the mini Lg V20. Although the smartphone does not come with a widescreen display similar to the Q6, the device does come with a secondary screen dubbed the “assistant screen” on the side of the front camera. The rear panel of the LG Q8 has an uncanny similarity to the V20 in terms of design, inclusion, and placement of features and specs.
Specs of the handset
The LG Q8 can be considered a flagship model with a smaller screen. The handset boasts a 5.2-inch display with 1440x2560 pixels resolution.
The secondary “assistant screen” has a resolution of 160x1040 pixels and comes with the “Always-On” feature. Apart from that, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad core processor. In terms of memory and storage, the LG Q8 comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. However, if the necessity arises, then one can expand the onboard storage capacity to up to 2 TB with the help of a microSD.
The main highlight of the handset is the camera quality and setup. The rear mounted dual camera setup comes with a combination of one 13-megapixels sensor and a 10mm Wide Angle Lens of 8-megapixel strength. The 13-megapixel sensor comes equipped with 2 Dual Flash LEDs and an Optical Image Stabilizer.
The 8-megapixel wide angle lens on the other hand sports an aperture of F2.4 and a wide angle of 135 °.
The front camera comes with a 5-megapixel 120-degree wide angle lens with an aperture range of F1.9. The front sensor supports Full HD video recording and comes equipped with features such as face detection, virtual flash, and auto shot.
An LG Q8 selfie comes equipped with gesture shot and automatic face detection for capturing selfies. The lights of the handset are kept running by a non-removable and powerful 3,000 mAh battery.
The waterproof and dust resistant smartphone from LG
The handset comes with the IP67 water and dust resistance rating and is encased in a full metal chassis.
The handset features Steady Record 2, which enables the user to record sharp and clear images and videos even when one is on the move. The smartphone runs off Android 7.0 Nougat with the LG UX 5.0 customized UI running on top. The handset will be released to the market in the latter half of July and the company will also reveal the price at the same time.
