This year marks the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone and if rumors proved to be true, Apple will celebrate it by introducing the iPhone 8 with an all-new design.

Recently surfaced details

Still riding the wave of the huge success of its iPhone brand, Apple is rumored to deviate from its established and very well-received design this time around. Earlier this week, the usually accurate retailer MobileFun revealed significant design changes.

On Tuesday, June 20, the company got in touch with Forbes' Gordon Kelly to divulge more shreds of information about the upcoming smartphone.

It's worth noting that the site accurately spilled the beans about the iPhone 7 and the Galaxy S8's design in June last year and in January, respectively. The site even listed the first retail case for Apple's hotly anticipated iPhone earlier this week and as if that weren't enough, it gave Kelly nine more. Just like the first case, the nine recently revealed cases are created by well-acquainted manufacturer Olixar:

Olixar ExoShield Tough Snap-on iPhone 8 Case - available in Clear and Crystal Clear Olixar X-Duo iPhone 8 Case - available in Carbon Fibre Silver, Metallic Grey, Jet Black, and Gold Olixar X-Trio Full Cover iPhone 8 Case - available in Black, Red, Rose Gold

The aforesaid cases offer an unhindered glimpse of the iPhone 8 design which they are built to protect.

The cases are currently up for grabs in the UK bearing price tags ranging from £9.99 to £24.99. Key takeaways are still consistent in terms of leaked details that have found their way on the internet in recent weeks.

Specifications and features

The iPhone 8 is likely to boast a near bezel-less, 5.8-inch extended display. In terms of optics, it will come with a vertically aligned dual camera placed on the back. There's also hearsay that Apple will oust the home button and integrate Touch ID into the display. Moreover, the Redmond-based tech titan plans to cut-out the top of the device's main display in order to fit the front-mounted camera and sensors.

Aside from that, a radical overhaul of iOS 11 could also be on the cards.

This comprises a newfangled 'Function Area' which has the potential to comprehensively influence how iPhone users get and interact with notifications.

But on the downside, Apple is likely to retain the Lightning connector rather than bringing in USB Type-C. Also, there will no headphone jack.

While nothing is set in stone yet, the burning question on everyone's mind is exactly how much will the new iPhone 8 cost? While tech pundits claim it will come bearing a steep price tag, Apple will be leaving no stone unturned in its bid to ensure the new iPhone is worth the extra money.
