Just recently, Microsoft debuted its Chromebook laptop dubbed the Surface Laptop. This is the company's response to the growing demand in the education sector that is dominated by Samsung. On Monday, Amazon started posting Samsung Chromebook Pro on its list of devices available for pre-order.
Specs and features
The widely popular and highly anticipated Samsung Chromebook Pro convertible touchscreen laptop is an impressive device packed with interesting specs and features. The device will have a 12.3-inch display with 2400x1600 pixel resolution. It has a QHD touchscreen display with 3:2 aspect ratio.
Furthermore, it has a foldable design that can be maneuvered through 360 degrees. The convertible touchscreen laptop will be released equipped with 4GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage. In addition, the device supports Samsung Stylus powered by Wacom. Among the impressive specs of the upcoming device is its powerful 2.2 GHz Intel Core m3 processor that eclipses the OP1 ARM chipset that runs the Plus model.
Release date, price, and stock update
The Samsung Chromebook Pro was first launched during the CES 2017 in January. For several months, consumers have been waiting for information about its release and the recent pre-order listing on Amazon most likely satisfied their yearning. In fact, as of writing this, Amazon has disclosed that the product is now sold out and is yet to confirm if they will replenish their inventory.
On Amazon's website the convertible touchscreen laptop is scheduled for release on May 28. The device costs $550.
The dillemma
While everyone is excited about the imminent release of Samsung Chromebook Pro 2-in-1 laptop, several reports are not so good. According to recent claims, the operating system of the upcoming device will not be available until the middle part of June 2017.
Chrome OS 59 is anticipated to update the Android support to Nougat. This update is vital for improved performance as well as for the Android apps on the Chrome operating system.
If the latest convertible touchscreen laptop from Samsung is to be released on May 28, it just means that the pre-orders will be getting a device that will be updated a few weeks later.
In other words, they will be getting a premature and a half-baked device. This information is yet to be confirmed by the South Korean tech giant. We will keep you posted about this information as soon as it becomes available.
