Who’s in and who’s out? Can Ohio State actually jump from the No. 10 team in the country to a playoff team? Not if Georgia, Central Florida or Oklahoma have anything to say about it!

Michigan loss opens floodgates

The Michigan Wolverines were on their way to the Big Ten title game and possibly to the college football playoffs. All that stood in front of them in doing so was the Ohio State Buckeyes. According to CBS Sports, the Buckeyes came into the matchup giving up huge numbers on defense and struggling a bit on offense. You wouldn’t have known that the way the Buckeyes played on Saturday afternoon.

Ohio State rolled up 62 points on the Wolverines -- who have one of the best defensive units in all of college football. The loss not only hurts the Wolverines playoff run but it opened the gate for teams like Ohio State, Georgia and Oklahoma to back their way into the postseason.

Championship Saturday

For teams like the Buckeyes, Bulldogs, and Sooners to have a realistic chance at the playoffs, they will have to win their conference championships. The Buckeyes have the easiest path -- on paper that is -- as they prepare to face the Northwestern Wildcats.

While many an underdog has pulled off an upset or two in these title games, the Wildcats will surely have their work cut out for them. The same can be said for the Georgia Bulldogs.

UGA will face the No. 1 team in the land when they square off against Alabama in the SEC title game.

If the Tide lose to Georgia, they probably will still be in the postseason. Bama is 12-0 on the season and a loss to No. 4 Georgia most likely wouldn’t be good enough for Alabama to fall out of the top four. For Georgia, this game is everything in terms of making the CFP.

A win and they are in. With a loss, they could be leapfrogged by OU or Ohio State.
