On Thursday night (June 21), the 2018 NBA Draft arrives and the Sacramento Kings look to potentially shake up the rookie class with their pick. It's been heavily reported for weeks and months leading up to the Draft that Arizona Wildcats big man DeAndre Ayton will go first overall to Phoenix. However, there has been a slew of potential picks mentioned for the second selection. The Kings will be looking at three possible players to take in that particular slot, based on the latest NBA rumors.

Kings like Marvin Bagley III

While the consensus seems to be that Ayton is going first, there are a number of talents on the board after him.

However, Marc Stein of the New York Times reported that Marvin Bagley Jr. is the current favorite to go second overall in the draft.

That seems to line up with several NBA mock drafts out there, as the Duke Blue Devils freshman is another talented big man. Sacramento is certainly in need of those after they traded away longtime star DeMarcus Cousins over a season ago.

Bagley was a beast in his one season at Duke. The 6-foot-11 forward averaged a double-double with 21 points and just over 11 boards per game. He also hit nearly 40 percent of his three-point shots that he attempted. All of those skills should come in handy for a Kings' team that is still in rebuild mode. They also have some interesting talents including Buddy Hield and De'Aaron Fox, so Bagley makes an intriguing addition to their young roster.

Doncic & Porter Jr. on Kings' radar

While Marvin Bagley III seems to be the favorite, Marc Stein mentioned two other players that have been included in the discussions of who Sacramento might select. One of those players is Michael Porter Jr., a prospect that has been mentioned in mock drafts anywhere from No. 2 to No. 9 in the order.

Porter Jr. didn't play much of his only season at Missouri due to a back injury, and that has some analysts suggesting his draft stock could drop. However, a team may decide to gamble on his future upside. The Cleveland Cavaliers have also been mentioned as interested in Michael Porter Jr., should he fall that low in the order.

The other player being mentioned is international phenomenon Luka Doncic. He's been touted in numerous mock drafts as the next big star from overseas. Doncic could bring a lot of skills to the next level, but there have been a lot of highly-touted prospects from overseas who haven't quite emerged into stars. It's believed Doncic is a "special" type of player and in the coming years could be a major star, though.

The 2018 NBA Draft is sure to be full of intrigue and possible surprises. The Sacramento Kings will be on the clock Thursday night (July 21) shortly after the Phoenix Suns announce that DeAndre Ayton will be staying in Arizona to play pro ball.
