There are NBA trade rumors swirling involving various superstars and the upcoming NBA Draft. One team that has recently popped up is the Memphis Grizzlies. They'll have the No. 4 selection in Thursday's draft. There could be plenty of future talent available at that spot. However, it appears the team could be tempted to move that pick if they get the right offer.
Teams want No. 4 pick
As with most NBA Draft events, there is a lot of hype about the possibility of landing the league's next star player. That is easily the case with this year's assortment of talent.
Among the players that have been mentioned as top four or five picks are Arizona's DeAndre Ayton, Duke's Marvin Bagley III, and international phenomenon Luka Doncic. There have been mock drafts mentioning different projected picks for Memphis at this spot, with Doncic among them.
However, reports are now indicating that teams are trying to make a deal for that fourth pick. NESN and other sources cited a tweet from NBA journalist Marc Stein. In that tweet, Stein said that the team is continuing to get "significant trade interest in the No. 4 pick." The team had reportedly been gauging interest in their pick for some time now.
The Grizzlies, meanwhile, continue to receive significant trade interest in the No. 4 pick in scenarios where they would also send out Chandler Parsons. The Grizz are said to be taking more calls than they're making, but staying in the high lottery is obviously crucial to Memphis https://t.co/Z3dPjwvs7A

The other interesting part of that tweet mentions the possibility that the team could package Chandler Parsons along with the NBA Draft pick in a deal.
Parsons has spent the past two seasons with the Grizzlies. He's averaged just 7.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He's also played less than half the schedule in both those seasons, which could be a red flag for prospective teams.
Trade or hold the pick?
It should be interesting to see what comes of the Memphis draft pick situation.
The Grizzlies have been a team in turmoil over the past season, finishing outside the playoffs. This came despite the fact that they still had two former All-Star players on their roster: point guard Mike Conley and big man Marc Gasol. However, the team finished just 22-60, which was 14th in the Western Conference.
With that finish comes the high NBA Draft pick, and now the NBA trade rumors.
It puts them in an interesting position where they can determine if they want to possibly draft for the future and consider rebooting or make the trade. In terms of drafting for the future, Michael Porter Jr. has been mentioned as a prospect that the Grizzlies are interested in.

However, with an NBA trade, they could go after a number of quality players that are available. Among them is Kawhi Leonard, a possible difference maker for any club that makes the move. Leonard has mentioned wanting to play in Los Angeles but won't really have a choice if the Spurs trade him to another team.
While news of a deal could come sooner, Memphis Grizzlies fans may be waiting until Thursday, June 21 to see if anything materializes on that front, or if they add a new young star to the roster.
