That's because the cameras had been following John and Nikki around to film more footage for the upcoming season of "Total Bellas." According to one individual very close to the couple, viewers will see the breakup unfold on the reality television show's upcoming third season.

Brie confirms footage

"Total Bellas" viewers have seen plenty of interesting moments caught on film, some of which will be especially interesting to watch in an upcoming season.

According to PEOPLE, Brie Bella has confirmed that the cameras caught "the playbook" of Nikki Bella's life including her conversations with John Cena that led to the couple's split. Brie goes on to add that she and her husband, WWE star Daniel Bryan, were shocked at what John Cena and Nikki Bella allowed for the cameras to capture and keep. Brie says fans will see the relationship "unravel" in the future season's episodes.

Brie said watching her twin sister Nikki deal with this challenging situation in her life was particularly rough on her. She mentioned that they took an oath before starting reality TV to let viewers "see it all." That includes the good, the bad, and the ugly, all of which makes it onto "Total Bellas."

John and Nikki doing well?

Since John Cena and Nikki Bella's split, the two WWE superstars have been sighted out in public for various reasons.

John Cena recently celebrated his 41st birthday and posted a video clip of him performing a weightlifting highlight at the gym, showing that he continues to work hard. Meanwhile, Nikki Bella was recently part of a public event along with Brie Bella. The twin sisters hosted a rosé tasting party at the Nirvana Food and Wine Festival in Arizona this past weekend as part of a partnership with their line of wine called Belle Radici.

While Nikki Bella didn't answer any media questions, Brie Bella gave a status update on her sister that was full of support. Brie said that her sister is called "fearless Nikki for a reason" and that she "has more strength than any other woman I know." That includes the superhero Wonder Woman, according to Brie. With the split official, fans will want to see which WWE rumors about why they split will end up as truth.

Fans will get to begin to watch the various interactions and conversations that occurred between John Cena and Nikki Bella within a month. The third season of "Total Bellas" will premiere on May 20 on the E! channel.
