The latest rumors come from a report given by US Weekly in which a source speaks on the couple's relationship and the possibility of it still working out. However, it may take quite a bit of time before that happens and for some good reasons. Here's the latest on John and Nikki's situations as well as what the insider sources had to say.

Nikki Bella needs time

It's said that Nikki Bella was just at a point where the relationship had her "exhausted," and that while she is sad about the breakup with John Cena, it hasn't crushed her completely.

The article goes on to mention that Nikki is doing well in terms of her career so she "needs some time" in order to figure things out for herself.

John Cena may be in a similar situation. There are constant WWE rumors that he's preparing for one final run with his career in the professional wrestling ring. The sports entertainment superstar has come up short in multiple matches he's participated in recently. These have included the 2018 "Royal Rumble," as well as a huge WWE Championship match at a "SmackDown Live" pay-per-view. There's also that loss to The Undertaker in about three minutes at "WrestleMania 34." He'll get a chance to pick up a win this coming Friday at WWE's "Greatest Royal Rumble" event in Saudi Arabia when he battles Triple H.

Beyond that, it's well-known that John Cena is also pursuing a Hollywood movie career. His latest film, "Blockers," just opened up in theaters and actually received positive critical reviews. It currently has an 82 percent score on the review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes. The film was said to have picked up $10.8 million at the box office, putting it in the top five movies this past weekend.

Unsurprisingly, a movie starring fellow WWE star and actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson held the top spot.

Reunited in how long?

The newest issue of US Weekly features comments from a source familiar with the couple. That source believes that John Cena and Nikki Bella could get back together again romantically, but also believes it may take about a year for that happen.

The sports entertainment couple made headlines about a week ago with their official announcement of a split. This came after six years of dating and a proposal at last year's "WrestleMania 33" pay-per-view. The wedding was expected to take place in the first week of May so it came as a shock to many people when the split was reported. For the most part, the split has seemed amicable although Cena has posted somewhat cryptic social media quotes and messages.

However, there's that saying that "time heals all wounds." Based on the fact both John and Nikki are pursuing big things in their careers outside of the professional wrestling ring, it makes sense.
