Today the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies played their first preseason game against each other. Marc Gasol, JaMychal Green, and Ben McLemore did not play in today's game. The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Magic today thanks to excellent play by Mario Chalmers. The Magic came up short in today's game, but the coaching staff still looked pretty happy with the solid numbers Jonathan Isaac put up.

Jonathan Isaac showcases scoring skills

Despite the Orlando Magic losing to the Memphis Grizzlies, Magic fans and coaching staff are looking pretty happy with the amazing game Jonathan Isaac had today.

The rookie had a team-high 15 points for the Magic along with three rebounds, one steal, and one block. Jonathan Isaac shot 60 percent from the field, 25 percent from beyond the arc, and 50 percent from the charity stripe. If Isaac can continue playing solid games, he may find himself in a big role this upcoming season.

Magic struggles with their three-point shot

In today's game, it was hard not to notice how bad the Orlando Magic shot from beyond the arc, they only made 15.6 percent from beyond the arc, hitting only five three-pointers in 32 attempts. Terrence Ross shot miserably from beyond the arc making only one out of six attempts. Mario Hezonja also struggled from the three missing all of his five shots.

And despite Isaac's amazing game, he struggled with his three-point shot too, making only one out of four attempts. Memphis is one of the best defensive team in the NBA, and this could be a huge factor in how bad the Magic shot from beyond the arc.

Mario Chalmers led Memphis to victory

Mario Chalmers played an amazing game today against the Orlando Magic.

Chalmers scored a game-high of 19 points, along with one rebound, two assists, and one block. He shot an amazing 70 percent from the field and made four of his five free throw attempts. Chalmers had a lot to prove going into the regular season with all the struggles and injuries he has faced the past couple of years. And he started the preseason with the bang leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a victory over the Orlando Magic.

Parsons and Martin also had decent game

Along with Mario Chalmers, Chandler Parsons and Jarell Martin also put up decent numbers. Parsons looked healthy with six points, three rebounds, and three assists in just 18 minutes of game time. Jarell Martin also looked solid scoring 16 points along with four rebounds, one steal, and one block. Memphis fans are hoping that Chandler Parsons can come back to his form so that he can help Marc Gasol and Mike Conley in the offensive end this upcoming season.
