October 17th's game against the Celtics and Cavalier's got interesting in a bad way, as one of the Celtics star players, Gordon Hayward got injured. As Hayward jumped in the air trying to reach for the ball and then took a bad landing, where his ankle turned sideways. The sight was not pretty for Hayward and for viewers. You can tell the other guys on the floor heard some sort of snap or crack when that happened to Hayward. Overall, they knew right away what had happened.

As Hayward was taken off the court in a stretcher fans were cheering for Hayward.

Even players on the Cavaliers like LeBron James and Dwayne Wade were concerned, which was nice to see. Both Lebron James and Isaiah Thomas went into the locker room to check on Hayward, while he was seeking medical attention. Oddly enough, Hayward was tough and calm in the situation.

Final verdict

In regards to the final verdict, the Celtics announced that Gordon Hayward was diagnosed with a fractured dislocated ankle and a fractured tibia. His injuries are tragic for the Celtics, who were expecting to test the Cavaliers this season. Other Players that showed their support for Hayward were Paul George and Demar Derozan.

George totally felt for Hayward as he also experienced an injury that left him absent from the NBA for a whole season. All sports athletes maintain a competitiveness against other players, but at the end of the day, when they see a fellow opponent get injured, they wish the best for them.

Furthermore, many sent their prayers out to Hayward on Twitter.

It must have been a horrible feeling to see Hayward go down like that. Cavaliers players were just disturbed as the Celtics. But all in all, it was good to see that Hayward was in good spirits and that he didn't panic or freak out.

This shows his strength as a player. Many are hoping for a fast recovery, but it is expected that he will be out for this entire season. It is unfortunate as Hayward also just joined the Celtics in the offseason.

Words from Kobe Bryant

Even former NBA player Kobe Bryant had some words of advice for Hayword. Kobe claimed that when one is faced with a gruesome injury that one ought to move on and focus on doing everything in their power to prepare for the worst but hope for the best. To only focus only on the recovery process. Evidently, it will be a timely recovery, but the key will be to look towards the small achievements. By doing this, Hayward will find happiness through his challenge of doing things that he previously took for granted.
