The unseeded American Sloane Stephens has won the 2017 U.S. Open on the women's side. On the men's side, it was the victorious Rafael Nadal who was named the champion. Sloane Stephens is without a doubt an inspiration for young girls and women in tennis and or sports. Women tennis players or women, in general, may have something they are working on that might not be going their way and are ready to throw in the towel. But with Stephens athleticism and drive, this can shift people's gears. So what's the moral of the story? Don't give up!

It was an amazing win and a flawless game. In addition, an exceedingly gracious embrace of her friend Madison Keys whom she played and defeated.

Four different ladies have been champions in four grand slams for 2017, which is amazing. On the 29th of July, Stephens was ranked 957th in the world. Six weeks later on September 9th, she was named the U.S. Open champion. Sloane Stephens doesn't have to be the next Serena Williams.

She can be the first Sloane and that's good too. Many are happy for both of them. According to ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter, she is the first woman in an open era to clinch a U.S. Open title with a 6-0 set since Chris Evert in 1976, against Evonne Goolagong.
