The NBA community was in shock following Kyrie Irving’s request for a trade. He reportedly wanted to be in a team in which he would be the focal point. In Cleveland, he was unable to do so thanks to LeBron James.
Many have aired their opinions towards Kyrie Irving and his decision. One of them is none other than Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors superstar who defeated Irving and James in this year's NBA Finals.
A regular problem
According to Sportsnet, Durant has always been vocal about his opinions this offseason. Now, he weighs in on the ongoing feud between Irving and James.
It is worth noting that this turmoil surfaced following Irving’s decision to leave the Cavaliers for another NBA team. In fact, the two have yet to talk to each other since the big news came out. Durant described the feud as something that is a “regular NBA problem.” The All-Star forward believes that a good number of teams in the league have undergone such issue.
The former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar believes that Kyrie Irving and James will soon figure a way out of it. He claims that the Cleveland Cavaliers is a great organization, one that has acquired championship already. For an organization with so much achievement, Durant is confident that things will be straightened out. This is a very interesting part on Durant, though he has always been respectful to his fellow players.
Durant on James
Believe it or not, this is not the first item that Durant commented on James and/or Irving. With the ongoing turmoil in Cleveland’s front office, fans are skeptical about the team’s future. One Twitter user said that the organization should trade James. Durant replied with a big no, as The King is a “legend.” He even explained that James has every right to have a say.
He is the face of the team after all. He helped the Cavaliers win a championship and his skill as a player are through the roof.
It holds true that this offseason has not been good for Kyrie Irving, James, and the Cavaliers. These all happened following their defeat to the Golden State Warriors in the last NBA championship. With Irving’s future in Cleveland being bury, the organization made a huge step and acquired Derrick Rose from New York Knicks.
The former Chicago Bulls superstar made a one-year, veteran minimum deal with the Cavaliers. As of this writing, no one knows what the future holds for Irving. Many are wondering if he will stay or not.
