The West is getting pretty scary this offseason as East NBA All-Stars have shifted to the West, except for Gordon Hayward where he went to Boston. The NBA is gonna get pretty exciting next season with all the changes, NBA fans are gonna be pretty excited as to how well the teams are going to do with their new rosters. Here are a couple offseason updates as the free agency scene is coming to a close:
Clippers signs one-year deal with Reed
The Clippers was supposed to have one of the worst offseason this year with Chris Paul going to the Rockets, Crawford going to Minnesota and Griffin meeting up with other teams.
As the offseason started there were big rumors that said Griffin was also leaving but Blake decided to stay and wanted to lead this team to a championship despite the departure of Paul.
Clippers after losing Mbah A Mout, Crawford and Paul have lots of slots to fill, and with that in mind, the Clippers acquire a solid player in Willie Reed. Chris Haynes of ESPN reported that the Clippers and Reed have agreed to a one year 1.5 million dollar deal. He spent most of his time in the NBA D-League but when he was given the chance to play he proved that he could be a valuable asset from the bench. He averaged 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks while shooting 55.7% from the field in 71 games for Miami Heat last season.
Reed will be a big boost for the now short handed Clippers bench.
Rockets acquire former Paul teammate
With Chris Paul heading to Houston it seems like the Rockets are going to be a huge threat for the Spurs and Warriors number 1 and 2 seed next season. But adding Chris Paul this offseason was only the first step as Houston tries to sharpen the edges of their roster by acquiring solid role players that can help their second unit.
Chris Haynes of ESPN has reported that Luc Mbah A Mout and Chris Paul will reunite in Houston as he signs a one-year veteran minimum deal with the Houston Rockets after declining a 2.3 million dollar player option with the Clippers.
Mbah A Moute is a nine year veteran in the NBA who made a name for himself as a good wing defender during his stay in Los Angeles.
He averaged 6.3 points, 0.9 steals, 0.9 assists, and 4.2 rebounds in his career while shooting 45.2% from the field and 32.4% from beyond the arc. Mbah A Moute will be a big defensive help for the Rockets second unit next season if he gets in the rotation.
The NBA season is right around the corner and the fans and the NBA players are surely excited about all the changes we have undergone this offseason.
