Last night on "SmackDown Live," AJ Styles viciously attacked Shane Mcmahon which left him battered and bloodied backstage. Once his brutal beating of the show's commissioner had taken place, general manager Daniel Bryan took it upon himself to fire AJ Styles and send him home for good. In keeping with the storyline, WWE has now moved Styles to its "Alumni Section" which is for superstars of the past.

The beatdown of Shane O'Mac is one that is quite reminiscent of the "Attitude Era" in WWF/WWE, and it was rather impressive. Styles pulled no punches and ended everything by slamming McMahon's head through a car window.

AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon seems a lock for 'WrestleMania 33'

For months, WWE has been teasing a rumored match between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon to happen at "WrestleMania 33." After Styles lost the title to John Cena at the "Royal Rumble," the storyline really ended up being pushed ahead at full-speed. Styles feels as if he is being disrespected by the front office of "SmackDown Live" and he wants them to treat him as the star he is.

This has led to many interactions between the two superstars over the last few weeks, and last night, it was the ultimate moment. After Styles destroyed McMahon and was "fired," Shane O'Mac went out to the arena and delivered a message. He let the world know that AJ Styles now had an opponent for "WrestleMania 33," but WWE still has yet to make the match official.

Being 'fired' from WWE never really means you're fired

When Styles was fired by Daniel Bryan, no one took it very seriously as they believed it was all part of the storyline. WWE decided to take things a step further on Wednesday and that is when they moved the former champion to the "Alumni Section" of their website, but it won't be for long.

As fans have seen over the years, there have been many superstars who were fired by Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Eric Bischoff, and countless others, but they were never gone for long periods of time. Loopholes and other storylines have brought them back, and that looks to be exactly what will happen with AJ Styles.
