The latest updates and spoilers for the live-action "Titans" TV series reveal another fan-favorite DC villain joining the show. Showrunner and writer, Geoff Johns, teased comic book fans at New York Comic-Con about adding Slade Wilson (a.k.a. Deathstroke) to the story and will have a different take on the character.

There are also new details about Batman's role and the DC show being renewed for a second season.

"Titans" will feature Dick Grayson (Robin) recruiting three superpowered outcasts to his team and fight a mysterious and dangerous organization that is hunting them. The show will also explore Dick's resentment towards Bruce and his transition into Nightwing.

Deathstroke coming soon

Geoff Johns told Comic Book.com at the NYCC 2018 event that they are adding Slade Wilson into the show and they will use "The Judas Contract" arc to introduce him in the show.

"You'll see Deathstroke in Titans eventually," Johns said. "But it will be a new version."

This will be the third live-action adaptation of Deathstroke in media as Manu Bennett played the DC villain in "Arrow" on the CW Network and "Magic Mike" star Joe Manganiello in the DC Extended Universe.

Deathstroke has been the archnemesis of the Teen Titans in the comics and is motivated by the death his son, Ravager, because of what they did to him.

Batman's role and season 2 renewal

According to Screen Rant, Bruce Wayne will have a role in the premiere episode of "Titans" as he helps a young Dick Grayson grieve after the death of his parents. Dick's past will be explored in the show and glimpse of it was shown when Rachel Roth (Raven) touched his hand and it revealed that an unknown man approached a grief-stricken Dick telling him that he wants to help him.

The flashback scene also revealed how Dick is taken in by Bruce and finds a handwritten letter telling him that he knows a way to overcome his pain and how to channel.

This proved that Bruce is willing to train him and let him join his crusade to save Gotham from criminals so that no one will go through that kind of ordeal.

However, this will not be the case as Dick and Bruce had a falling out before the events of the show and decided to leave Gotham for Detroit. Dick is further infuriated when he met his replacement, Jason Todd, who wears the mantle of Robin.

Johns also announced at NYCC 2018 that "Titans" will be renewed for a second season and the first season will consist of 12 episodes on the DC Universe streaming service. The show will premiere on October 12 on the DC Universe and Netflix internationally.
