The latest updates and spoilers for "The Flash" Season 5 reveal the arrival of the show's new main villain, Cicada. The CW Network streamed a new trailer for the DC show teasing Cicada's path of destruction and his presence has something to do with what Nora West-Allen did in the present timeline.
The Hashtag Show also reported that two new characters are being added to the next "Arrowverse" crossover episodes.
Season 5 will feature Barry and Iris West-Allen helping their daughter to get back home from the future. Team Flash will face new threats as they search for clues on how they will fix Nora's mistakes.
Cicada comes out from the shadows
According to Screen Rant, the trailer starts with the continuation of the season 4 finale as both Barry and Iris are shocked to meet Nora and asking her if she is really their daughter from the future. Nora explained that she did something in the present that altered future and asked for her parents help.
The scene cuts to several vignette appearances from Cicada as Iris sees reports of a mysterious black figure terrorizing Central City citizens from the shadows.
Nora claimed that Barry and his friends beat him before, at least, they were supposed to do until she changed everything. The trailer ends with Barry confronting Nora about his fate in the future wherein he disappeared on April 25, 2024.
It was previously reported that Cicada's mission in the fifth season is to eradicate every metahuman living in Central City and blames the Scarlet Speedster and his team for his misfortunes. He has the ability to disable a metahuman's power, which is a problem for every meta that confronts him. Nora's actions in the present clearly made a domino effect that altered history to the point that she is stuck in the present.
Actress Jessica Parker Kennedy stated before at San Diego Comic-Con that her character has a lot of secrets and she is hesitant to reveal too much information out of fear of losing her home and her parents.
Two new characters for the next 'Arrowverse' crossover
According to The Hashtag Show, the CW Network announced that two new characters are added to the crossover and their names are Lon-El and Dr. Elias Kern.
Lon-El is described as a mysterious visitor from another planet. He is ambiguous, inscrutable and has the power that is teased as nearly infinite. He hinted to be Kryptonian due to his last name and is related to Supergirl and Superman. The website theorized that Lon-El could be the show's version of Kal-El's biological father, Jor-El, or Val-Zod, a Superman from an alternate universe.
As for Dr. Elias Kern, he is a disturbed psychiatrist who is close to losing his grip on reality. He has brutal and sociopathic tendencies, and he will appear in all three episodes of the crossover.
