The latest updates and spoilers for "The Flash" Season 5 reveal new details about Caitlin Snow's father, Dr. Thomas Snow. The Hashtag Show reported the character description of Thomas Snow, and that his experiments will unravel the origin of Caitlin's powers and the mystery behind his disappearance.

Cast member Tom Cavanagh also revealed interesting details about the new Harrison Wells in the show. The theme of the fifth season will be all about family as Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen must help their daughter, Nora, get back home to the future after she made a huge mistake in the present timeline.

Team Flash will also encounter a new enemy named Cicada as he intends to eliminate every metahuman in Central City -- including the Scarlet Speedster.

Who is Dr. Thomas Snow?

According to The Hashtag Show, Dr. Thomas Snow is described as a Caucasian man in his 50's -- a brilliant geneticist who went MIA for the past few decades. Caitlin originally thought that her father died and that led her to have a rocky relationship with her mother.

Thomas will return to Central City to rekindle his relationship with his daughter, but he is keeping big secrets from her. Perhaps these secrets will likely pertain to Caitlin's metahuman abilities as the previous season revealed that her powers were triggered when she was a child and it had something to do with Thomas' work.

Danielle Panabaker told CinemaBlend in a previous interview that Caitlin's arc will focus on getting her powers back and becoming Killer Frost once again. Caitlin's alter-ego became Team Flash's ally in their fight against Clifford DeVoe (The Thinker) and the Earth X invaders from the four-night crossover.

Tom Cavanagh on Sheloque Wells

Tom Cavanagh revealed new details about his latest character, Sherloque Wells, telling Entertainment Weekly (via Screen Rant) that the new Wells will bring humor and deceit to Team Flash.

"I'm just doing my darnedest to get this show cancelled, one guy after one guy after one guy and somehow I haven't quite struck that note yet, but maybe this year.

This guy will be filled with intrigue and deceit, fun, humor (and) intensity."

Sherloque is described as a brilliant but suspicious person and his dubious personality will not sit well with each member of the team. Cavanagh has played various versions of the Harrison Wells character, and it will be interesting to see how this version translates next season.
