Jax Taylor tragically lost his father, Ronald Cauchi, to cancer at the end of last year. So, when it came to Sunday's festivities, the "Vanderpump Rules" star appeared to be understandably emotional about the Father's Day holiday. Luckily, he was able to focus on the silver lining and thanked Cauchi for watching over him each and every day.

"Happy Father’s Day to the best dad in the world," Taylor wrote in a Twitter post on June 18. "I miss you so much. Enjoy your day up in heaven dad," he continued. "Thank you for watching over me every day, I love you."

Although the sixth season of "Vanderpump Rules" was airing at the time that Ronald Cauchi died, the death wasn't discussed until the season six reunion special aired months later due to the delay of production.

As fans will likely recall, Taylor was quite distraught while speaking about his late father during production on the reunion special months ago and said that he was his best friend. He also said that Cauchi's death led him to realize that he needed to treat people that care about him much better than he has in the past.

Jax Taylor wants to be a good man and honor his dad

In past years, Taylor has been known as a bad boy who doesn't respect the women who come in and out of his life. In fact, just one year ago, months before losing his father to cancer, Taylor cheated on Brittany Cartwright after two years of dating with one of the other waitresses at SUR Restaurant, where they were both working at the time.

Taylor then dumped Cartwright after she chose to forgive him, which further humiliated the Kentucky native.

Last year was certainly a tough one for Taylor and Cartwright, but around the time of Cauchi's passing, they chose to reconcile. Then, months later, during a visit to their favorite restaurant in Malibu, California, Neptune's Net, the "Vanderpump Rules" couple became engaged after dating for just over three years.

Jax Taylor's engagement was filmed for 'Vanderpump Rules' season seven

When Taylor proposed to Cartwright, cameras were rolling for season seven. Hours later, production was also in full swing when the couple's co-stars and friends surprised them with an engagement party at their West Hollywood apartment.

Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and their co-stars, including Lisa Vanderpump, Stassi Schroeder, and Scheana Marie, are expected to return to Bravo TV later this year for season seven but a premiere date has not yet been revealed.
