Expectations are still high for the DC Comics Movies, as "Wonder Woman" gave the franchise a first real success in terms of critical reviews and box office numbers. There's now hope that other solo superhero films might do "justice" for the various characters in the "Justice League" including Aquaman. A first look at the "Aquaman" trailer was unveiled during a recent Warner Bros. presentation at the Barcelona CineEurope 2018 event. Comicbook reported that viewers will have to wait a bit to see it in most other places, barring any online leaks, though.
'Aquaman' shown at CineEurope
Deadline checked in with news about the Warner Bros movies that were part of their CineEurope presentation. That included the upcoming musical reboot "A Star is Born," starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, as well as "The Lego Movie 2," and another big sequel for the Harry Potter franchise. "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald."
In addition to those and the "Conjuring" spinoff film, "The Nun," there was also the big reveal for the "Aquaman" trailer. The movie will bring the story of Arthur Curry to the screen. He learns he has become heir to the underwater kingdom known as Atlantis. The movie, which stars Jason Momoa in the lead role and is directed by James Wan, is set for a Christmas 2018 release.

Momoa portrayed the character in the blockbuster film "Justice League," which did well at the box office to the tune of over $650 million.
As far as critical reviews, that was a different story. CinemaScore gave the film a B+ grade on their A+ to F scale, while Rotten Tomatoes had an aggregate review score of 40 percent, indicating it was a bit rotten. Gal Gadot who portrays Wonder Woman and Ezra Miller who plays The Flash both received praise for their work in the movies.
That could mean Momoa has his work cut out for him as Aquaman.
Aquaman trailer coming soon?
While those at CineEurope got an early look at the "Aquaman" movie trailer, there are plenty of viewers who want to catch a glimpse at what it has to offer. Unfortunately, the reports indicate that it will be "coming soon" for people to check out. Some sources, including tweets referencing Variety, suggest the trailer will drop online in the coming days. There's always the chance that it will leak early to YouTube, but a bigger reveal is probably on the way, much like "Justice League" and other big superhero films have had in recent years.

The upcoming San Diego Comic-Con could also feature the big movie trailer reveal for Warner Bros in the United States.
They'll basically have less competition in terms of superhero movie reveals with Marvel expected to take this year off from their usual Hall H presentation. "Aquaman" is really the only movie they could bring to the table, although "Shazam" is another potential as it wrapped up filming recently. "Wonder Woman 2" is filming right now for its 2019 release.
There is speculation that the "Aquaman" trailer could pop up on the big screen ahead of upcoming summer blockbuster movies. These could include anticipated films like Marvel's "Ant-Man and The Wasp" or Disney-Pixar's "The Incredibles 2." It will definitely be interesting to see what sort of reactions the new trailer brings once it finally debuts in some capacity for prospective United States moviegoers.
