The latest updates and spoilers for "Young Justice" Season 3 reveal a new cast of characters joining the show. Co-creator Greg Weisman unveiled a new official artwork of the show featuring core members Nightwing, Superboy, and Tigress along with the DC superhero group, The Outsiders.
The season 3 is dubbed "Young Justice: Outsiders" as it featured the return of "The Team" to fight the never-ending battled for justice as they work in the shadow under orders from the Justice League. The core team consists of Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, and Artemis, but the roster has expanded and it comes with missions and dangers to face.
Meet The Outsiders
In Greg Weisman's new animated artwork The Outsiders team consist of Katana, Geo-Force, Metamorpho, and unnamed characters. The artwork also featured Nightwing, Tigress, Superboy, and Black Lightning hinting that they call the "shots" for this new team.
In the DC comics, The Outsiders were formed by Batman after he "quits" the Justice League due to them not agreeing to be compromised. The team serves as a black-ops version of the League as they go through missions and are willing to make the hard choices for the protection of the world.
Katana, Geo-Force, Metamorpho, Black Lightning, and Nightwing have been some of the famous members of the team, and at one time led the group.
As for the new unnamed members, the yellow female character is speculated to be a version of Halo or Solstice, while the red insect humanoid could be the New God, Bug the Forager.
DC Comics previously revealed the new members of "The Team" at last year's San Diego Comic-Con event. They consist of Tim Drake's Robin, Wonder Girl, Beast Boy, Static, Arsenal, Bart Allen's Kid Flash, Blue Beetle, Traci Thirteen, Spoiler, and Arrowette.
What do we know so far?
While DC comics and Warner Bros. have not yet revealed the main plot of season 3, many fan speculations and rumors hinted that it will take place in a five-year gap similar to the second season. The first arc of the show will focus on the return of Wally West after the latter sacrificed himself to save the world in the season 2 finale.
Wally's return to the show will be a nod to his appearance in the "DC Rebirth" storyline. It is also speculated that Darkseid will be the show's main villain as he alines himself with Vandal Savage and his organization, The Light, to take down the Justice League and their young sidekicks.
