Josiah Duggar is now engaged to Lauren Swanson and doing well, but the Fans still remember Marjorie Jackson. This is the first girl that Josiah courted. It doesn't happen very often that a Duggar ends up courting someone and it doesn't work out. Now In Touch Weekly is sharing that the fans have a theory and they feel like Marjorie was only in the relationship for fame. That could explain why they didn't end up lasting.
Fans reveal their theory
Josiah and Marjorie are the only Duggar couple that have broken off a courtship so far. The others have ended up with an engagement.
When it all fell apart, Josiah said, "Marjorie and I had a good time together. We were just trying to follow God's lead on everything. She didn't feel that it was the right timing then, so we called it quits for a bit." This was clear back in 2015. Since then, she wrote a book and has tried to say in the headlines, but it hasn't really worked for her.
The users on Reddit are now talking about how they feel like Marjorie Jackson wanted to be on TLC and have the fame. Maybe she realized that Josiah doesn't get paid as much as she thinks or something. For some reason, things didn't work out and a lot of fans think it was because the fame wasn't going to be exactly what she was hoping for by being with Josiah.
As one fan pointed out, things were going great with Josiah and Marjorie and then the Josh Duggar scandal hit. "19 Kids and Counting" was canceled and not long after Marjorie broke ties with Josiah and the Duggar family both. They were together for about four months before the relationship was over. Josiah has moved on, though.
He is now engaged to Lauren Swanson and seems happy with her. Marjorie has now moved on and is going to college instead of having babies like the other girls who marry a Duggar son.
Lauren Swanson joins the show
So far, the fans haven't really got the chance to get to know Lauren Swanson. She is engaged to Josiah Duggar and she will be joining the show "Counting On." The new season will be airing this summer and the fans will get the chance to see her and also watch their courtship and engagement.
This will give fans a better look at how Josiah is doing now with a new girl in his life.
