The latest updates and spoilers for "Arrow" Season 6 reveal that the main series star Stephen Amell is teasing a possible crossover between his show and "Black Lightning." The "Black Lightning" TV series is the latest addition to the CW Network's superhero-themed shows, and Amell stated during Awesome Con that the idea of Jefferson Pierce meeting Oliver Queen or Barry Allen is inevitable.
There is also news that "Legends of Tommorrow" star Caity Lotz will return as Sara Lance to the show in its season finale. Sara has been a mainstay in the "Arrow" TV series, and her presence in the show could give resolution her sister's doppelganger, Black Siren.
New crossover ideas
According to ComicBook, Stephen Amell explained that a crossover with "Black Lightning" is something that will happen eventually since it is part of the network's DC TV series line-up.
"Everyone pretends like we're not going eventually cross over with Black Lightning but we're probably gonna cross over with Black Lightning because that just how the world works," Amell said. "I think that anything you can do to expand the universe and to build out what we've built on our show would be great."
"Black Lightning" was originally set to air on Fox before the CW Network took the license leading to the fan speculations that it is part of the "Arrowverse" line-up. The show tells the story of Jefferson Pierce, a school principal who is once a vigilante fighting crime in Freeland against the 100 gang.
Jefferson became active after the 100 gang took his daughters and Tobias Whale returns to the city.
Although both shows came from different settings, their approach to heroism is very similar. Both Oliver and Jefferson are ground level heroes who want to save their communities from crime. They are also fathers, and they are often focused on keeping their families safe.
The show's status of having metahumans in the city could also mean that Jefferson will meet The Flash in a future crossover soon.
Sara Lance returns to Star City
According to Collider, Sara Lance will return to "Arrow" Season 6's finale on May 17, a month after "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 3 finale. While Sara's role in the season 6 finale is not yet revealed, comic book fans speculated that her presence might have something to do with her family's complication with Earth 2 Laurel Lance a.k.a. Black Siren.
Sara had a very close bond with her earth's Laurel and seeing her sister's doppelganger could lead to an emotionally charged battle between the two.
