Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will tie the knot at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on Saturday, May 19. This chapel holds a special place for Harry because this is where he was christened. The Royal Family will pick up the tab for the church service, associated music, flowers, decorations, and reception. Meghan’s father Thomas and mother Doria Ragland will attend the wedding.
Telegraph UK reports that invitations have already been dispatched to 600 guests and some close friends will attend another party at Frogmore House. The special invitees could include former US president Barack Obama, tennis star Serena Williams, and Meghan’s “Suits” co-stars Sarah Rafferty, Patrick J Adams and Wendell Pierce.
Other arrangements
It will be a big day for the Royal Family. Duke of Cambridge will probably be the best man for Prince Harry while Prince George and Princess Charlotte could be in the roles of page boy and flower girl. These children have some experience in this area because they had been in these roles at the wedding of Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge.
Meghan Markle could probably opt for some grown-up bridesmaids from among her close friends. Two names are doing the rounds. They are Canadian stylist Jessica Mulroney and Indian actress and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra. Meghan’s association with Ms. Mulroney goes back to Canada, and both love yoga.
There will be entertainment
The wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be the culmination of a fairytale romance that began with a blind date arranged by a mutual friend. It was a romance between a fighter pilot who saw live action in Afghanistan and an actress of Hollywood. Their romance went beyond geographical boundaries.
Both of them have seen life from close quarters and felt for the people around them. This was established when Meghan toured the countryside with Harry, and the people gathered on the streets to cheer her. She has also bonded well with members of the Royal Family.
In view of their popularity, they can expect renowned entertainers to be present to liven up the moment.
It seems Mel B, one of the five original Spice Girls, had indicated in February that the group would attend the celebrations.
Sir Elton John is another celebrity who is likely to attend. He is believed to have canceled a couple of programs in Las Vegas and intends to be there. He could also be performing.
US Weekly adds that the Harry and Meghan had met in London in 2016 and announced their engagement in November 2017. The wedding will be televised, and more than 250 members of the Armed Forces will attend the mega event.
