jax taylor's father, Ronald Cauchi, lost his cancer battle earlier this week. According to a new tweet, the "Vanderpump Rules" star is struggling to cope with the death of his "best friend" but has been leaning on his girlfriend Brittany Cartwright for support through the loss.

"My heart is broken, I lost my best friend and the best man I have ever met last night, I love you so much dad I can’t even breathe anymore," Jax Taylor tweeted. "[The] only person not letting me fall right now is my amazing girlfriend [Brittany Cartwright]. I love you dad." As soon as his tweet was shared, Taylor received support from several of his co-stars, including Tom Schwartz, Ariana Madix, and Peter Madrigal, and also received kind tweets from other Bravolebrities, including "Don't Be Tardy" star Brielle Biermann, the daughter of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak.

Earlier this month, Jax Taylor spoke to The Daily Dish, via Radar Online, about his father's health crisis, revealing that the cancer was in Ronald Cauchi's throat and esophagus. "It’s rough, because my dad, he’s like my idol," Taylor explained to the outlet, adding that Cauchi was someone who never got sick.

During his tell-all interview with The Daily Dish weeks ago, Jax Taylor gushed over his father, saying that he was a perfect human being and didn't deserve such a devastating diagnosis. He went on to say that he and his family had been completely hurt by the illness and what it had done to his father. The longtime "Vanderpump Rules" star also said that while he would surely spend all the money he could to save his father, there was simply nothing that he could do.

Brittany Cartwright is at Jax Taylor's side

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright began dating in early 2015 and while they went through a cheating scandal earlier this year, Cartwright quickly forgave the unfaithful reality star and chose to continue on with their romance. Now, as Taylor faces heartbreak, Cartwright is at his side providing him with the support he needs and will likely continue to need for some time.
