Selena Gomez could very well be on her way to landing her biggest hit of all-time with a collaboration on Taylor Swift’s new album, "Reputation." Earlier this week, Scott Borchetta, the CEO of Big Machine Records, sent fans into a frenzy when he tagged Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez in a Target commercial in support of the album’s release. Target, as fans might already know, is bundling the new album with two magazines that are linked with the record, but the connection it has with Selena Gomez has totally confused social media users.

Is a deluxe version coming?

Minutes after the tweet was sent out, Taylor Swift’s fans were buzzing about the potential Selena Gomez collaboration that they are expected to find on the album once it drops on November 10. Despite wanting answers from Borchetta, he has failed to give any reason why Selena Gomez was added to his tweet which was originally promoting the release of the new album, “Reputation.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be a shock to find out that Taylor Swift teamed up with the 25-year-old, considering that the pair have been friends for almost a decade — Selena Gomez is even part of Taylor’s proclaimed squad. Given that Selena Gomez has been one of Taylor Swift’s biggest supporters, and with fans questioning whether they would ever hear the best of friends on a track together, now could quite possibly be the time.

Hints leading to Gomez collaboration

Taylor Swift has one of the best marketing teams in the industry, and her label has gone above and beyond to keep news of any special announcements under wraps until they feel it’s time to publicly mention something the fans ought to know. It would seem that nobody will quite know whether Selena Gomez will be on Taylor’s new record until "Reputation" hits stores November 10, but, given the fact that the “A Year Without Rain” singer was tagged in a tweet by the CEO of Taylor Swift’s label, it definitely seems to hint at a collaboration.

News of a possible duet comes just days after it was revealed that Taylor Swift already sold 400,000 copies in pre-order sales, already poised to make it the fastest-selling album in first-week sales from a female singer this year.

Selena Gomez has yet to confirm rumors that she'll be featured on her friend's deluxe version of the brand new album. It should also be noted that Selena is currently finalizing her own new record, which should be out in the next few months.
