It seems that fame corrupts and absolute fame, such as the Duggars enjoy, corrupts absolutely. At least that's what some Reality TV fans are accusing Jinger Duggar and her husband Jeremy Vuolo of. Instagram followers flew off the handle at the "Counting On" Celebrities for their wanton spending, after the Duggar Family's self-professed frugality on "19 Kids and Counting."

First class flight fails with Duggar fans

What was this major transgression of "19 Kids and Counting" star Jinger Vuolo and her husband?

The reality television pair were photographed on a flight home to visit Jeremy's family. The Vuolos were not flying coach as fans of the Duggar family would expect. Rather, the "Counting On" couple was enjoying the amenities of first class. Folks shamed them for extravagance and were themselves shamed for being judgmental pot-stirrers. Is there more to fan angst than penny-ante fault-finding?

Duggars preach penny-pinching, practice prodigious spending

The big yank with flying first class wasn't so much about Jinger and Jeremy as it was their parents. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar preached Biblical simplicity on "19 Kids and Counting," but viewers have seen a steady decline in saving and a major increase in spending in the reality TV show's history.

Critics have accused the Duggar family of not practicing what they preach. In their second show "Counting On" the celebrity kids have made their fortunes. Jinger, Jana Duggar, and Jill Duggar Dillard are worth one-half to two million dollars each.

Duggars' odd methods of money-making

What fans find even more outrageous is the way the "Counting On" family has amassed its fortune. Jinger, Jill Dillard, Joy-Anna Duggar, and Jessa Seewald sued police and media for a settlement over their brother Josh molesting them. Patriarch Jim Bob Duggar rewards wayward behavior. When Josh Duggar brought down "19 Kids and Counting" with his adultery and pedophilia scandal, his father gifted his son, and wife Anna Duggar, with a $350,000 house, while Jill and Derick Dillard scammed charity sites for missionary funds.

Duggars: Do as they say, not as they do?

Most folks didn't see a problem with Jinger and Jeremy flying first class. "19 Kids and Counting" and "Counting On" fans probably expected that reality show earnings would go to the Duggars' heads. It would be hard not to let the $40,000 per episode paycheck from TLC erode frugality, but what of hypocrisy and of money being the root of all evil? What troubles people is that Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar still preach minimalism in their maxed-out lifestyle.
