Arya Stark may think that her problem with the Frey family is over after she eliminated the male members of the clan. However, she may have made a terrible mistake when she let the women live. This decision could have its consequences, specifically in the name of Sarra Frey. Recent casting news for “Game of Thrones” Season 8 teases the appearance of the Frey member and we believe that she has vengeance in mind.
Danielle Galligan cast for mystery role
Popular “Game of Thrones” site Watchers on the Wall first reported that actress Danielle Galligan (“Strangers in the Park”) has landed the role of Sarra in Season 8.
While no surname or other details were provided, the name itself is enough to interest fans. After all, in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire,” the name Sarra belongs to the granddaughter of Walder Frey.
Galligan has yet to confirm her involvement in the HBO drama series, but her Instagram post is enough to fuel rumors about her appearance. She shared her photo with fellow “Game of Thrones” cast Emer McDaid to celebrate the end of their filming for the show. Interestingly, she captioned the photo with the hashtag #Belfast, where filming for Season 8 takes place.
Arya in trouble
Now, there is only one possible reason why Sarra would appear in the final season and that involves the death of her grandfather.
Fans may remember that Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) killed all the men in the Frey clan who partook in the massacre of her mother Catelyn and her brother Robb. She slit Walder Frey’s throat in the Season 6 finale. She also disguised herself as the old man and poisoned the male members of the household in the Season 7 premiere.
However, she let the women live. According to TV Guide, this is where trouble awaits Arya in “Game of Thrones” Season 8. It is possible that Sarra wants vengeance for the death of Walder Frey. Will we see another massacre happen? It is interesting to point out that Danielle Galligan will appear in an episode directed by David Nutter.
Fans may remember that David Nutter is behind the brutal “Red Wedding” scene in “The Rains of Castamere," in Season 3 Episode 9. This is when the male members of the Frey household brutally murdered the Starks and their men.
A truce
On a positive note, Sarra’s appearance in “Game of Thrones” Season 8 may not be a foreshadowing of trouble for Arya. Instead, it could mean a truce between the Freys and Starks. Perhaps Sarra pledges her family as an ally to the Starks. With the threat of the Night King and his White Walkers slowly making their way North, all kingdoms must unite and work together to defeat the undead army.
