Kid Flash fans rejoice! Wally West is not going anywhere, despite his exit in the October 24 episode of “The Flash” Season 4. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg assured that the yellow speedster returns in a future episode. He also teased that exciting things are in store for Wally.

Kid Flash returns

Kreisberg assured fans that Wally West’s exit is only temporary. Kid Flash is still a mainstay character in season 4 of “The Flash.” Likewise, Keiynan Lonsdale, who portrays the character, remains a regular cast on the show. However, fans will have to sit through three episodes until they see the speedster again.

Kreisberg revealed that Kid Flash returns in episode 7, which airs on November 21.

Fans can attribute Wally’s absence in the succeeding episodes to heartbreak. After all, he decided to leave Central City and head home to Blue Valley after Jesse (Violett Beane) broke up with him. To recap, in season 4 episode 3, “Luck Be a Lady,” Earth 2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) returned to Earth 1 with bad news for Wally. He literally handed him Jesse’s breakup message through a breakup cube. Of course, Wally did not hear her entire message since the gadget malfunctioned. Wally decided to meet Jesse in person instead and travel to Earth 2. The episode did not show how their conversation went, but it is safe to assume that Jesse and Wally are over for good.

Two is a crowd

Regardless, fans speculate that Wally left because Barry is back and that two speedsters in “The Flash” may seem like too much already. Kid Flash is on the sidelines again with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) back to being the speedster hero in Central City. Wally even pointed it out in season 4 episode 3 that no one realized that he was gone.

Kreisberg confirmed with TV Line that having two speedsters on the show is difficult “creatively and financially.” “There are a lot of times where either Barry had to get knocked out so Wally could save the day, or Wally had to get knocked out so Barry could save the day — and just knocking them out, that costs a lot,” he said.

However, the executive producer further assured that Wally West “is not gone.” He even teased that Kid Flash may appear in an episode of “Arrow” when he added that Wally is certainly not gone from the Arrowverse. Likewise, he teased that season 4 of “The Flash” have surprising things in store for the character. Viewers will learn exciting stuff about Kid Flash as the season moves along.
