When Lucasfilm dropped the second official trailer for “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” on Monday Night Football last October 9, fans went crazy. After seeing a glimpse of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Rey (Daisy Ridley), and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), fans have been more confused.
Some say that the video clip was trying to mislead the viewers, so they will be surprised to see the movie’s real story. However, there are some clues that someone is going to turn to the Dark Side, but who could it possibly be?
Who will join the Dark Side?
According to Metro, there is a possibility that Luke Skywalker, Rey, or Finn (John Boyega) will turn to the Dark Side in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”
Luke went on a self-exile, left the Resistance, and lived on Ahch-To alone after his Jedi Academy was ruined.
Now, it is a big question what he has become. In the first trailer, he said that it is time for the Jedi to end. Does this mean that the darkness should take place?
In the second trailer, Rey’s Force power turned to be very special. Luke himself didn’t expect that she has this strong kind of ability. As she was seen asking for someone’s help, Kylo Ren extended his hand as if he was offering his help. Will Rey accept his offer and join him to be Supreme Leader Snoke’s (Andy Serkis) apprentice?
Out of fear and confusion, Finn wanted to flee after the attack on Tuanul. However, after his failed escape, he had a change of heart and joined the Resistance. But following his one-on-one fight with Kylo Ren, will he stay or decide to run away again?
In the second teaser, there will be a battle between him and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). Will he win or join the First Order once more?
Who destroyed the Jedi Academy?
It has been known for quite some time that Kylo Ren destroyed Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy.
In fact, it can be seen on Rey’s flashback scene in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Luke can be seen kneeling next to R2-D2 while it was raining.
Kylo Ren, on the other hand, was seen running through a soldier along with the Knights of Ren. But, what if Rey was the real culprit behind this?
In the second trailer, Rey’s Force powers surprised Luke as she can effortlessly break the ground and levitate small rocks. So, there is an assumption that as a kid, Rey couldn't control his power and destroyed the Jedi Academy.
This may be the reason why Rey was sent to Jakku to be distant from the others and avoid more dangers. Kylo Ren might be also jealous of her skills and powers, thus he looked for his own path that made him turn to the Dark Side.
