Betty Cooper's life is about to be turned upside down in "Riverdale" Season 2, which premieres next week. In fact, fans already know that her half-brother, Chic Cooper, is coming to town for reasons unknown, so that should shake up her family life. For one, it was unclear why Hal Cooper didn't want anything to do with Alice's unexpected pregnancy that resulted in Chic. But him coming back to Riverdale may mean that he and Alice have kept in touch and it will be exciting to see how Chic will affect the dynamic between the Coopers, especially now that Polly is due to give birth to the Blossom twins.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, TVLine reports that the role of Chic has already been cast. In fact, Hart Denton has just filled in the role that is set to be part of the upcoming season of "Riverdale."

Who is Hart Denton?

In "Riverdale" season 2, fans will get to know Chic Cooper, Betty's (Lili Reinhart) half-brother. According to E! News, Denton has appeared in FOX's "Lethal Weapon" and the film "Fun Mom Dinner." Like Reinhart's Betty, he shares the sunny blonde hair and bright eyes of the Coopers, which means he definitely inherited a lot from his mother. Denton isn't the only fresh face to arrive in the sophomore season of The CW show, as Mark Consuelos is also arriving as Veronica's (Camila Mendes) father, and Graham Phillips will also guest star as Nick St.

Clair.

Dark Betty is 'more than just a black wig'

Back in season 1, it was revealed that Betty had some kind of a mental health problem that caused her to be somewhat bipolar. Lili Reinhart told Teen Vogue that in "Riverdale" season 2, "Dark Betty" definitely means something more than what Betty did to Chuck in the hot tub. This time, it's the character's "internal struggles and her anxieties and her demons [that] are coming out, as much as she tries on a daily basis to push them down and ignore them." She added that it's something that will inevitably come to the surface no matter how much she tries to keep locked in.

Betty and Jughead in trouble

Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa made it clear that despite being a great couple, Betty and Jughead may be in for some serious bumps in the road in "Riverdale" season 2.

For one, it seems that Archie's newfound maturity will make him see Betty in a new light, which may also cause her to rekindle some feelings she had for him back in season 1. Fans will have to see what results from these new developments when "Riverdale" premieres on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
