There are several reasons why people are looking forward to "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," but much of the excitement might actually come from the possibility of Luke Skywalker getting back into action. After all, Luke is expected to train Rey in the ways of the Jedi before possibly facing off against Kylo Ren. Now it looks like Luke might end up getting into more trouble than the younger characters in "Episode 8," thanks to new merchandise that feature his old lightsaber.
In "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Rey finally found Luke in the planet Ahch-To and tried to give him the lightsaber he lost when Darth Vader cut off his hand.
The film concluded without showing whether Luke actually took Anakin Skywalker's weapon from the girl. However, the final trailer for "The Last Jedi" has confirmed that Luke accepted the lightsaber and a pint glass features an awesome spoiler about the sequel.
Pint glass reunites Luke with original Skywalker lightsaber
According to Comicbook, the new pint glasses are being produced by the Alamo Drafthouse. There are two different designs, one focusing on the Dark Side while the other supports the Light Side. Interestingly, the Light Side glass has an unexpected image of Luke Skywalker that might reveal what will happen in "Star Wars 8."
The picture of the pint glass, which can be viewed on Imgur, shows Luke wielding the lightsaber Rey had found in "The Force Awakens." The photo immediately had fans wondering why Luke is holding the weapon that Rey will be using in her training.
Could it mean that the girl from Jakku has been seduced by Supreme Leader Snoke to join the Dark Side?
Will Rey leave Luke to train under Snoke?
Fans have already speculated on the possibility of Rey turning her back on her Jedi training in "Episode 8." Some even believe that the betrayal stems from Rey's blood since she might be related to Emperor Palpatine.
The pint glass that shows Luke Skywalker holding his lightsaber possibly confirms that Rey might not use the weapon for long. Luke could be the only one who will need to use the lightsaber against another person.
But who exactly will Luke need to face in "Star Wars 8?" It is possible that Kylo Ren will attack the last Jedi with the Knights of Ren, leading to an epic lightsaber duel between the two. Other fans speculate that the fight might be between Luke and Snoke.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is directed by Rian Johnson. The sequel will hit theaters on December 15.
