Fergie and Josh Duhamel were together for 13 long years until they decided to go separate ways earlier this year. The separation was not announced until last month, when a representative confirmed that the couple has called it quits. No further details were provided to explain their reason for the split.

Both parties have agreed to keep the separation private in order to allow them and their son to adjust. Fergie and Josh Duhamel also promised to co-parent their child and to support each other and their family. The "You Already Know" singer reechoed this statement during an interview with "The Talk" on Tuesday.

"The good thing is we don’t lose each other as parents," she said.

Fergie remains amiable with Josh after split

She added nothing has changed since the split. Even her relationship with his family and vice versa has remained the same, despite what happened in their marriage. "Everything basically is staying the same, except we’re not a romantic couple," the singer continued.

Fergie also confessed that she still has feelings for Josh Duhamel. In a separate interview, the Black Eyed Peas member even broke down in tears when she talked about her failed relationship with the actor. "It wasn't my plan. I wanted to stay married forever," she admitted.

Since the split, the estranged couple has been making an effort to maintain an amicable relationship in order to the best parents for their son.

A look back at Fergie and Josh's relationship

Fergie and Josh Duhamel first met when the members of Black Eyed Peas guest starred on "Las Vegas" in 2004. The two dated for three years before they announced their engagement and got married in 2009. And just like any other couple, the pair had their ups and downs in the course of their marriage.

The "Safe Haven" actor was even accused of cheating on his wife shortly after they tied the knot. The couple, however, has managed to make it work until they welcomed their first child, Axl Jack, in 2013. Fergie said she and her husband have agreed to have two kids.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel have shown no signs of marital issues until the announcement of their separation last month.

Prior to that, the two have stepped out on public on several occasions and even went on a family vacation with their son to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary.

The singer even uploaded a few snippets from the getaway, including a sunset photo with her husband. "Happy 8th anniversary to my bae," she captioned the post.
