Chris Pratt and Anna Faris aren't the only former married couple who are now just "great friends," as Fergie admitted that it is now her current status with former husband, Josh Duhamel. In an emotional appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show," the 42-year-old singer admitted, while holding back tears, that it "wasn't my plan" to separate from her husband, as she "wanted to stay married forever." Fergie and Duhamel began dating in September 2004 when she and her band, the Black Eyed Peas, filmed an appearance in an episode of Duhamel's series, "Las Vegas." The pair was engaged in December 2007, before tying the knot in January 2009.
Four years later, the pair welcomed their son, Axl Jack.
No bad blood between the former couple
While Fergie did not disclose the main reason for the split, she did say that there's "so much love" between herself and Josh Duhamel. She added that they "really like each other," but that they are no longer " a romantic couple" anymore. According to Entertainment Tonight, the announcement of their separation was made in September, but the pair had been separated since February.
Alx Jack is their 'project'
Fergie and Josh Duhamel's eight-year marriage spawned Axl Jack, who is now four years old. In talking to Wendy Williams, Fergie mused that "We forever have that project together and we're doing the best we can" to co-parent their only son.
Fergie is currently busy following the release of her latest record "Double Dutchess" in September. The new record features collaborations with Nicki Minaj, YG, and Rick Ross. Meanwhile, Duhamel recently appeared in this year's "Transformers: The Last Knight," which co-starred Mark Wahlberg. He also stars in next year's "Love, Simon," from Greg Berlanti.
2017 celebrity breakups
Fergie and Josh Duhamel aren't the only celebrity couples to break up this year, as their announcement was made only a month after Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced that they were legally separating. Also on this year's biggest breakups list are Paramore's Hayley Williams and Chad Gilbert, who according to ET were together for 10 years and married for 16 months.
Janet Jackson and her husband, Wissam Al Mana, also announced their separation shortly after the birth of their first child in January, while Spice Girl Mel B filed for divorce from her husband in June. "Avengers: Infinity War" star Scarlett Johansson quietly separated from her husband, Romain Dauriac, and that news broke in January as well.
