There's nothing sweeter than two lovebirds rekindling their romantic feelings for each other. Take for example "Avengers: Infinity War" actor Chris Evans and his "Gifted" co-star Jenny Slate, who recently spent the weekend having lunches together with "Avengers" star Robert Downey Jr. After splitting in February, Evans and Slate were spotted together in public for the first time last week, during which they grabbed a few meals together. In one occasion, they dined with Downey Jr. and his wife. Despite being Captain America and a worldwide superstar, Evans keeps his private life to himself, up until he began dating Slate last year.

Their romance was mentioned here and there in tabloids and the news, but it wasn't until after the breakup in February that Slate truly spoke up about the relationship. She admitted that at first, she may have been intimidated by Evans, given that he is still one of Marvel's biggest stars. The two starred in Marc Webb's "Gifted," which arrived this April.

Rekindling the romance?

After eight months apart, it seems that the two are back together. Chris Evans and Jenny Slate recently had a sweet and funny Twitter exchange that is very characteristic of the pair — fun and youthful. According to People, the 36-year-old actor took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the "Mash" theme song, which he admitted "stresses me out" and that the " Pavlovian response is that it's time to go to bed and I probably haven't done my homework." The 35-year-old actress chimed in that Evans had the entire weekend to do his homework.

Evans replied, asking Slate to write him a note and even joked, "Let's cut class!" The actress obliged, saying it was "terrifying and exhilarating" and asked him to meet her "behind the gym after science."

Pair confirm their relationship status

As both Chris Evans and Jenny Slate are two people who do enjoy keeping their private life private, it's nice to see such a public exchange go down between the former — and now, possibly current — lovers.

The two haven't been spotted together this week, but Evans is due to appear at the special benefit reading of Thornton Wilder’s "Our Town" at Atlanta’s iconic Fox Theatre on November 6. According to Broadway Buzz, the John Gore Organization is behind the event, which proceeds will help support the relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Evans will be joined by his "Avengers: Infinity War" co-stars, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson.
